Testimonials
We thoroughly enjoyed the music and singing. A lot of thought had gone into planning the programme, and no doubt a number of rehearsals had taken place to reach such a high standard. To one and all we say Well done! It's good to know that Scottish music is enjoyed and played by many in Canada.

Take The Floor is the invitation from The Caledonian Fiddle Orchestra for 15 tracks of classic Scottish sociable dancing, starting with a Dashing White Sergeant to promote mingling, to Shetland Jigs and Reels, Scottish Waltz, the Lewis Bridal Song, and more.
Listeners will believe they are in a village hall somewhere between Perth and Stornoway; however, the orchestra is actually based in Nova Scotia, and the CD was recorded in a church hall in West Chezzetcook, NS. They pride themselves in being 'the only group in Atlantic Canada dedicated to performing in the traditional style of a Scottish Fiddle Orchestra'.
The vocalist sounds remarkable like Peter Morrison on occasion, but it's Ted Rhodes, a retired chemical engineer and founder of the Kitchener Waterloo Operetta Guild. The Orchestra, which really delivers on it's 'mission statement' quoted above, is under the direction of Nelson Ferguson, former Vice President (Admin) of the Technical University of Nova Scotia. On this showing, he should give everybody straight 'A's

The Caledonian Scottish Fiddle Orchestra provides the listener the best possible way to experience a traditional Scottish Concert without actually traveling across the Atlantic Ocean to Scotland!
We have had the distinct pleasure of having the Caledonian Scottish Fiddle Orchestra at several of our functions. They provide a true traditional Scottish fiddle orchestra sound which is a tribute to the Nova Scotia Performers who comprise the orchestra.
Our members and guests have thoroughly enjoyed the orchestra's program of entertainment which includes a great variety of pieces and has the capability of working extremely effectively with guest artists. Indeed, we know of no other Canadian musical group which specializes in the traditional Scottish fiddle orchestra sound as does the Caledonian Scottish Fiddle Orchestra.
We recommend the orchestra to you; your enjoyment of their selections is guaranteed.
